FORMULATION, REFORMULATION, DEFORMULATION
Formulation involves combining ingredients to produce a trial product.
The product can be manufactured by you or a private label company. Small
trial formulas can be provided by our laboratory.
Reformulation means combining the known levels of all known ingredients
plus others, if necessary, to obtain a desired product.
Deformulation (also called "reverse engineering") requires physical
separation and chemical breakdown of a product to determine the
ingredients in the formula. This requires considerable expertise in the
separation and analysis of the ingredients, especially if the product has
many components or is otherwise complex.
We conduct research and deformulations on the following items:
| Foods / Food Supplements / Drugs All foods &
beverages |
Personal Products Cosmetics & perfumes |
| Household Products All purpose cleaners Laundry products Disinfectants & deodorants Metal cleaners & polishes Glass cleaners Wood polishes & waxes Bathroom & kitchen products Oven & grill cleaners Rug and carpet cleaners Upholstery cleaners |
Industrial Products Construction

We can make a small trial formula for evaluation and can
recommend a private labeling company.
All rights (including patent) to the new product belong 100% to the
client. See our Non-disclosure Agreement (NDA) form. We do not ask for a
percentage of gross sales for the product unless by a special
arrangement. We will help you obtain a patent, including the patent
research, patent search, patent disclosure, and patent application. See
our Patent section for fees.
We strongly recommend that our clients review state and federal laws, trademarks, copyrights and patent situations prior to use of such information for producing a similar product.
